The Dothan Area Young Professionals has selected Benton Cybulsky, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, and Emily Darnell, Director of Marketing, for the Dothan Area Young Professionals 20 Under 40 class of 2018. This recognition honors 20 professionals under the age of 40 in the Dothan or Wiregrass area for their accomplishments and contributions to both their business and community. Nominees were selected based on their demonstration of excellence in pursuit of their career goals, civic leadership, philanthropy and humanitarianism.
As assistant chief executive officer, Benton is responsible for the operational oversight of the facility as well as building strong physician relationships and increasing physician and employee satisfaction with the facility. She is directly responsible for 215 of the hospital’s employees and oversees multiple ancillary and non-clinical departments.
Since joining Flowers Hospital in 2016, Cybulsky has developed and implemented an employee engagement council to improve engagement and satisfaction among Flowers Hospital’s employees and has also developed a young professional hospital board of directors to engage the next generation of hospital board members. She serves as a board member for The Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention and the Houston County Distinguished Young Women program. Additionally, she is a member of the Dothan Area Young Professionals, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Wiregrass Area Kappa Delta Sorority Alumni Association.
Emily Darnell joined Flowers Hospital in 2017 as the Director of Marketing and works closely with the hospital’s executive leadership team, physicians and other healthcare providers to promote the hospital’s services as well as educate the community on various healthcare options available in the Dothan area. She is a member of the hospital’s employee advisory council, a board member of the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center and an advocate of the Wiregrass United Way, serving as the campaign coordinator for Flowers Hospital.
In her previous role at a credit union, Emily served as president of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions Young Professionals group in the Wiregrass area and worked to connect credit union employees ages 40 and under with each other and provide professional development and networking opportunities.
Additionally, she has worked to bring awareness, raise funds and coordinate volunteer efforts for many organizations including the Wiregrass United Way, Southeast Alabama Community Foundation, Alabama Head Injury Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Children’s of Alabama.
“We are proud to have Benton and Emily at Flowers Hospital along with many other outstanding young professionals in various roles,” said Heath Phillips, Flowers Hospital chief executive officer. “They have both had significant positive impacts on our hospital, and I’m excited to help celebrate and recognize their accomplishments.”
