Scholarships
Flowers Hospital is dedicated to providing quality health care for the residents of the Tri-State area of south Alabama, southwest Georgia and northwest Florida. As a reflection of our commitment to meet the healthcare needs of the community, we are offering scholarship loans to RN students who meet criteria and are interested in committing to nursing as a career.
The Flowers Hospital Scholarship Loan will pay for tuition, required books, lab fees, state board exam, temporary permit and nursing license up to $15,000 (nonrenewable). In return, after graduation, the scholarship loan recipient is required to work as a nurse at Flowers Hospital on a full-time basis for a period of 24 months.
Scholarship loan recipients are required to maintain a C average or above in each course. Scholarship loan recipients should be available for employment within one month after graduation from nursing school. As long as the scholarship loan recipient completes the 24 month employment commitment, he/she shall incur no obligation to repay the loan. If for any reason a scholarship loan recipient discontinues the nursing program, decides not to accept employment with Flowers Hospital after graduation or terminates employment before the 24 month commitment is met, all amounts advanced by Flowers Hospital shall become payable by the scholarship loan recipient immediately. The amount owed will include an 9% interest fee, as well as a $1,000 penalty charge.
The Flowers Hospital Scholarship Loan Committee will consider applicants who meet the following requirements. Once these are received, applicants may be contacted for an interview.
