Eleven Graduate from Flowers Hospital’s Surgical Technology Program
9/24/2018
Eleven students graduated from Flowers Hospital’s Surgical Technology Program on August 16 at a ceremony held at the hospital. The 11-month program combines classroom instruction and clinical experiences to train students to successfully function as surgical technologists in the operating room. This year’s graduates are Brandy Bell, Andrew Bloodworth, Sydney Borener, Audris Brown, Jayden Buivis, Katie Krista, Ashton Crick, Raygan Parr, Erin Reed, Blaine Sellers and Nate Sidebottom.
Prior to graduation from the program, students must sit for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certified Surgical Technologist Exam. The program at Flowers Hospital continues its record of high pass rates by its graduates with 100% students passing the exam since 2016.
“These students are challenged throughout the year to perform at their best,” said Katrina Mansfield-Davis, Flowers Hospital Surgical Technology Program director. “They must learn to function side by side with surgeons and other clinical staff to help provide optimal care for the patient. We’re proud to say that many of our graduates have continued their careers at Flowers Hospital and others have found exciting opportunities at other facilities. We’re proud to help them celebrate this accomplishment.”
