Renovations to Flowers Hospital Inpatient Rooms
Dothan, AL (March 11, 2013) – Flowers Hospital has embarked on a 3.5 million dollar renovation of four inpatient nursing floors. Original construction of the north tower was completed in 1983, when Flowers first relocated to its current location. Although minor renovations have been done over the years, this is a complete renovation with new contemporary interior finishes including new floors, walls, cabinetry, nursing station and medical staff areas. Modern furniture adds beauty and functionality to the areas.
Slated to be finished March 10th, the third floor is the first of the four floors to be completed. The opening of this area will also add twenty additional inpatient rooms. Warm earth tones create a relaxing setting. In addition, the new rooms will feature children’s art work from our Healing Art Project. The children and grandchildren of employees, medical staff, and volunteers were given the chance to show off their artistic side by submitting their art work to the Healing Art Project. Art offers children a creative way to express themselves and brings a colorful message of hope to our patients.
The renovations are not only cosmetic; they represent Flowers Hospital’s continued commitment to “Caring for You as Family.” We are dressing up to enter a new era in healthcare. Modern design and technology are essential but more importantly, we continue to give the kind, personal and professional touch that the community we are privileged to serve has come to expect from Flowers Hospital.
Flowers Hospital will host an open house for the public on Wednesday, March 13th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the north tower. As part of the open house, the Healing Art Project submissions will be on display. Please join us to celebrate the new look of Flowers Hospital, all dressed up and somewhere to go.
