Flowers Hospital Receives Donation from Special Friends Heart to Heart Club

Dothan, Ala. (May 1, 2018)– Flowers Hospital accepted a donation of painted rocks from Dothan’s Special Friends Heart to Heart Club recently. The rocks, hand painted by club members, bear well wishes, bright colors and other encouraging messages in hopes of bringing joy and smiles to patients receiving cardiac care at the hospital.

Flowers Hospital’s assistant chief nursing officer, Charley Tew, among other hospital staff members, accepted the donation and said he was confident this donation would encourage those receiving care and expressed appreciation for the club’s commitment to giving back to the community.

“This is a special donation for us because the time spent by these club members on this project truly shows their passion for helping and encouraging those in our community,” said Tew.

The Special Friends Heart to Heart Club, overseen by Dothan Leisure Services, is a group of special needs citizens who meet each month to find ways to give back to surrounding Wiregrass communities. For more information on the club, contact Lorena Guttowsky at (334) 615-4751.
